How can I solve it, as it keeps working loose, and is annoying to keep stopping to tighten it up?:blast

Start by checking that it's assembled correctly, particularly if you have been fiddling around with it by way of 'improvement'. Bods regularly post the fiche which shows what goes where; a search will turn it up.

My standard screen on the vanilla 1200 GS and then on the 1200 GSA stayed rock solid, despite multiple miles upon miles of touring. The GSA's is rock solid still, in the hands of its new keeper.

my old gsa with the round knobs did come loose occasionally.

new one with the 3 spoked grippy knobs never has. i put that down to the increased tightening force that can be applied :nenau

replace the dome head nut with a lock nut

The screen was installed by Vines at the 600 mile service, so should be fitted properly. Re using thread lock, won't that make it impossible to adjust the screen?:nenau Any other thoughts?

Nope, the 238 is a medium strength so it won't be a problem. It will just stop it vibrating loose :thumb2

The nut isn't the problem from what I can see. It has the three pronged wheel, but the nut sits at the other end and just stops the bolt coming out rather than being tight to the base of the bolt (I know what I mean:friday). This is the same on all GS/GSA screens.:blast

Take it back to the dealer that fitted the screen. It shouldn't work loose

should have been installed properly ?:blast

take out the assembly on both sides and check, im betting the last item on the long bolt (nut) is the wrong way round, easily done.

Your loose nuts !!!

Have you made sure the the threaded nut is in the guide correctly so when it's adjusted it shouldn't come loose ?.? This has to be the same either side ,cant see how it can come loose otherwise unless your not tightening it enough in the first place  :D:D:thumb
