I was wondering if anyone has replaced their GS screen with a GSA one. Would it be worth while. I like the angular look of the BMer screen but would like something a little taller and wider. I have an O6 GS

I just did this last weekend :thumb2

Got the screen off ebay but had to buy the rest of the bits new £154.00ish for all the mounting bits. Ouch. (you will need the longer clamping knobs)

Screen is great can ride with my visor up at 60 +

Just need the winglets now.

Val.

I was watching a screen on ebay with no fittings. Was the one you bought the BMer original GSA screen. Thanks for your reply

I fitted the GSA screen and winglets at the start of this year.

It's an improvement over the standard GS screen, but costly and still not quite the ultimate solution. Looks good though!

Got any photos of it before and after styleeee? Looked into it a while ago but it seemed quite expensive (as you say). May change my mind depending on the looks (does it look odd without the larger tank and tank bars etc?).

Cheers, in anticipation.... Andy:thumb2

I paid £330 to have my 07 GS screen converted to a GSA screen and £32 for fitting. Examining the job afterwards I think I could have fitted it myself in an hour or so. I'm always scared of drilling plastics though.

I was abit worried that I might be disappointed given the cost but I can honestly say it is an awesome improvement, looks great and has really made the bike a much more comfortable long distance machine.

PM your mobile number if you want to caht about it.

Dave

A picture of my GS with the GSA screen fitted as you can see I have not fitted the winglets yet.

Fitted one at the beginning of the year. Expensive but the best £300 I have spent on the bike. It's a no brainer to fit it and takes about 20 minutes. A little more if you fit the winglets and have to drill some holes in the beak (I measured the positions on a a GSA in the showroom).

It's a massive improvement on the standard screen, less buffeting, better protection and looks good. I can ride at motorway speeds with my visor up in comfort and the screen doesn't shake any more at tickover and low revs.

I think that those who still complain about wind and buffeting with one of these should really be driving cars.

One small warning. If you use a satnav it's tempting to use the new upper rail for fitting and Touratech make a neat looking adaptor. Forget it. The satnav vibrates like crazy and when you give up and take it all off you find the Touratech bracket has buggered the paint on the rail.

Thanks for the posts, I think it really looks well. I was considering the Wunderlich screen but would prefer the more rugged look of the GSA. Thanks again

Looks good Tommo, might just have to speak to the long haired Mayoress, a few choice words and what with Xmas just around the corner, you never know.......
Cheers - Andy:beerjug:

I've got a GSA screen on mine as well. Can echo the comments above. Didn't realise how good it was until I noticed I was batting along and my visor was still up! :thumb2

Ahy it was me. Still waiting for feedback from the seller ,but hay ho.

We went to Wales on thursday evening 240mls round trip. Quite cold but the screen and the Takeaways made all the difference.

I wore the Touer X, because it has the Bluetooth for the sat nav in it. I experianced no buffeting at all :thumb2

I still want to fit the wingletts though, I just think the bike'll look better with them on. I have the Hepco upper bars fitted along with TKC's. The ADV screen just sets things right looks wise too.

Mind you, if it didn't work it wouldn't stay on long. I like it, works well :thumb2

Thanks for the photos Tommo and Johnnystorm. They are a great help. I have a Schuberth J1 open faced helmet, it is very quite, but I would like a little more protection from the buffetting.
