A mate of mine who is too tight to join this fair site is looking for some one local to Barnsley South Yorkshire who refurbs spoked wheels as the hubs on his 1150 GSA have seen better days. Are there any recommendations out there? I've tried the search to no gain.

Thanks
Chris

Surely if he wants new hubs it would be cheaper to get new or good s/h wheels?

done a fair few spokes on my rear wheel, nightmare job.
Labour costs will be his enemy for sure.

They are corroded in typically (for the benefit of anyone who feels the need to comment, yes I know they are stainless spoked, but it doesnt stop the trapped crud reacting with the rim and expanding etc) and I can tell you its a fantastic job to get the spokes out.

I used to build bike wheels and these buggers are not laced in any way simply. Everything seems to happen in reverse to a cross-three or two arrangement!

Good luck with the quest! :thumb2

Try Mark aka "Brokenlegs" from the KTM Forum and Supermoto Forums. His work is brilliant and well priced.

I have my XR600 Wheels rebuilt and refurbed by him and my old VOR 530SME Wheels done.

An excellent job.

Here's his profile on t't KTM Forum, and he's not a million miles away from you
