looking for some advice just taken the bike for a run, went about 3 miles.
Doing around 30 the bike back fired and cut out, would not start.
After trying to start it for about 5 mins the battery went flat.
Had it recovered to my house where i got another battery and tried to jump start it,eventually started but running very rough and wont tick over.
Bike is a 53 twin spark.
Removed the plugs and cleaned them up.
Should the plugs spark when earthed when the ignition is turned on and without the starter button being pressed? cos thats what its doing.
also the injection system does not seem to be priming properly the injectors seem to click continuously.

Could be the fuel pump controller, which is an easy fix. Do a search - you'll find lots of advice on that issue.
