Anybody ever done this swap?
Just got hold of a GSA tank and want to fit it to my standard GS, just wondered if its fairly easy and if theres anything I need to be wary of??

Cheers:beerjug:

Yes, I've done it with mine. Pretty much a bolts straight on and takes no more than an hour including swapping you filler and internals over. It's worth changing your fuel fitter while you're doing it. Be very careful with the nuts/studs holding the pump plate on - they are prone to snap so use plenty of releasing oil if they haven't been off for a while. Also bear in mind your fuel gauge will read wrong if you use your standard one, just use the trip mileometer instead. I've had 350 miles out of mine when taking it easy but I also ran out at my 308 once :blast All in all though a very worthwhile mod :thumb2

Ooops, meant to say your gauge will be wrong if you use your standard SENDER not the gauge itself

I have a GSA tank on a year 2000 1150 GS - I brought it with it. It was a selling point for me. 280 miles or so to a tank full... Mine has also been calibrated with the gauge, but no idea how it's done.
Keep asking around and digging through the posts here, there'll be a guru somewhere...
