I am giving my bike a mega-clean (for some reason) and I have noticed a kind of mottling grey build up around my spokes on the rims, it doesnt shift with gentle persuasion and its not tar (tar remover doesnt work)

Does anybody else have this / had this? and how is the best way to remove?

Worst case I can think of is that it is bubbling paint around spokes where it goes into the rim, worse on the back than the front... hoping not!

I had problems with corrosion around the spoke nipples on my rear rims. I understand it was a common problem on 2007 adventures. Initially it does look like a bit of dirt, but no amount of cleaning shifts it.

BMW changed the rim under warranty - no quibble.

No one else has this?

It looks like grey concrete around the spoke nipples- very hard to shift.

Will T-cut definately shift it as I am concerned it might be bubbling, but saying this it is more solid, no flaking paint-

Can somebody who rides year round check theirs before I un-necessarily make a warranty claim?

Many Thanks:)

Had this problem with my previous bike, now i dont wash my 07 gsa, just add more acf 50.bike might be dirty but no corrosion and as i commute from ireland to scotland and back once a week it would be dirty anyway:thumb2
