So I fitted (about 3 times in total until I got things all lined up :( ) my H&B bars, and very nice too.

It was actually v easy, if you do it the right way around. The critical thing on my set at least (I know there seems to be some variation) is getting the small screw* on the centre bars on the LHS in place early in fitment. Logic might dictate put the two small screws on the support members in last, but they are a swine to align.

I found I had to loose off all the screws, realign everything and then retighten (bearing in mind that the subframe bolt on at least one side must remain tight).

BUT in doing * I threaded the M6 bolt. In the end I managed to get a v slighlt shorter stainless screw-head bolt in place so it looks like the thread on the bike is ok. Given that these are the 2 smallest and hopefully least structural bolts (I assume so as they are puny!) shall I just quit while Im ahead, or get a replacement M6 and put the real thing in (risking the same old palaver). Or should I wat until I may have to remove the bars at some stage...

What do you think? How critical is that individual bolt. All the big ones went in fine.

umm... what's the question again..?

If you're talking about the two bolts on the horizontal bar, then I wouldn't worry that much. My LHS threads are gone. I reckon that I might drill a hole straight through one day and put in a new bolt that goes straight through instead. :)

:D yes, the question was somewhat hidden.
I think we both have the same problem, although I managed to get a different screw in place in the end.
