Wondering about the Teflon.
Can anybody post some detailed photos of the jacket?
How well does it vent in summer?
Is it possible to adjust sleeve cuffs to allow air up them in summer?
I'm looking for the ultimate do anything jacket. If this vented well enough, it might fill the bill. Yeah, I know about the mesh outer available, and, that's an option as well, but, just curious how well the Teflon does on it's own!

Cheers,
Jim

Teflon jacket is good especially in spring and autumn. Finish is v. good, sleeves are tight over gloves but good enough and it is a proper three and a half season jacket. Waterproof and robust.
Anything above 20deg C and it gets too hot for me when wearing the safety jacket underneath with back protector, even with the vents open. (Switching to the breeze mesh jacket is very comfy in hot weather (unless you are stuck in traffic))
Anything below 10 deg needs additional warmth through extra layers or heated clothing.

I had a Hein Gericke Voyager before which is probably a better all year round suit, but I am very happy with the extra protection from the safety jacket (it weighs a ton though)

If you are buying the safety inner jacket, then the Teflon will do 85% of your riding, but you'll need the mesh outer for summer

Hi

I have had my Halverssons safety jacket for two years, and I also have all of the outer covers including the Teflon. It has been superb, although I suffer from always being too hot, even now in this winter I only have a T shirt underneath on my early morning 32 mile commute. I have coped well with the Teflon, but with the back protector in the rear zipped vent is compromised a bit. There are two front vents, but these are small. In the UK in summer (if it gets hot!) I use the Breeze, which is very good, the most stylish and keeps me comfortable.

However, on my foreign travels I have found the full mesh the answer, the last two summer tours throughout Europe have seen me in temps of 40+, on the GS or my Gixer, and I was the most comfortable out of our group (20+). I am currently using their Hi-Viz Orange outer which has been great fot the winter commute.

I choose it for it's crash protection and versatility, but the full array is not cheap, that said I have now sold all of my other jackets, leather and textiles.
I have not crash tested it myself, but a friend of mine did recently and apart from a small scuff hole in the outer there was no damage, and he was totally unscathed. In fact about 6 workmates have been sufficiently impressed to convert, and about three other mates have also made the purchase. I always leave the zip in inner in, it is supposed to regulate body tempreture and I find it works well.

They are well made, and the only minor issues that have arisen have been dealt with superbly through the dealer I use Steve Harris M/C's, and the manufacturer.

In fact I am impressed enough to try and get them as issue at work, but that will be a large mountain to overcome due to bureaucracy. It is the best I have found in 30+ years road riding. I hope this is of use.

Thanks for the great reviews so far. I tried on the jacket a couple years ago while in London. It's not available in the states. One thing I didn't like was the tight cuffs of the safety jacket. I didn't have much time to really adjust it as much as I'd like though. Is that something that has bothered anyone? Not a biggie?
As for the heat, are you able to loosen the outer layer a bit around the cuffs to act as an air scoop up the sleeves?
Does anybody in the uk deal on these or just retail?
Cheers

Missed your last question.

Yes you can get a through draught by opening the neck a little and I use short light weight gloves that tuck under the outer layer, and by lossening the cuff as much as possible, you get a breeze there as well. However, unless I have been caught on the hop I would probably be in one of the other outers.

Try their home website and select the 'UK' and you can see all the major dealers, send them an e-mail, they might want to set something up to tade with you, times are hard here at the moment.

Loving my Safety Jacket. There's 2 dealers in London - the one in Fulham had all the safety stuff in stock the last time I was there (a couple of months ago)
