Does anybody know if anybody makes clip-on wind deflectors for the standard BMW handguards (don't want them on in summer)?

Do the Touratech ones fit (guy I spoke 'assumed' they would!!)?

Do they work?

Also, a few years ago I saw a BMW with foot shields bolted below the cylinders - homemade or can you buy them???

Cheers.

Got the TT deflectors on my Adv. I don't think they work at all, my gloves still get wet.....

Mike:(

Sell the bike and get a car! :P

Gavin, Sherpa makes them, send him a PM £16.00 I think, they are bolted on with Stainless button capscrews and they do work.

You're obviously not going fast enough Mike :D

Dammit I must remember to drill a likkle hole in the bottom outside corner of my left handguard.......for the third time in a week i poured a sploosh of water down my left boot today as I pulled her upright .....that's ARSE!!!!!

The items Sherpa sells really do the job, I have used the bike in some of the worst weather lately and they really do deflect water which would otherwise have made it past the standard guards.
To be perfectly honest they are easy to make if you have a suitable piece of plack plastic but that is only part of the story. It is getting the profile correct which counts and that is what he has done, they look taller and extend around the edge more than the Touratec items giving much better protection.
They can be fitted in only a few minutes, the only thing was I had to clean up the edges first but that was it.

I would tend to agree with you Mike, I have them on mine and I have not noticed any differance. As you say your gloves still get soaking wet.

Touratech handguards are made by Acerbis. They come without spoilers. Spoilers come in two sizes(small 15 euro & large 21 euro) and a lacquered version of the large spoiler (50euro).

Far as I know they also have spoilers for standard BMW handguards.

I prefer the TT handguards because the spoilers can be detached in the summer (for airflow) and the guards protect the levers adequately. I´m not so sure about the BMW guards, since they fix to one point only, the TT/Acerbis guards also fix to the end of the handlebar.
