I hate wearing heavy winter gloves.
I must have bad circulation... Age i suppose...
Muffs might be an answer, street cred gets a knock, but warm hands would be nice!
Anyone ever use them?
Are they any good?
What type fits 1150gs?
Heard they might push back against break lever at speed?

Used to have a set for my VFR, brilliant when it's cold. Had to go out on the bike the other week when it was -7ºC so I went into the shed to find them. To my dismay some rodents had made a nest in them and chewed them to bits

Looked around and within minutes had this lashed up.

Like you I hate thick winter gloves and these worked a treat deflecting virtually all wind chill off my hands. The guys I met that day had a good laugh to start with but soon changed their minds.

Tucano muffs, look up Val in the vendors section, they might be a wee bit dearer than some but there brilliant, rode through winter with summer gloves.

they feel a bit odd at first but you get used to them quickly

+1 Excellent kit. Haven't worn my Winter gloves since getting them.

Nice one lads!

Love the becks version...
I might have a set of dutch gold muffs under the stairs....now...what to do with the beer? Don't think anyone actually drinks DG? It's only good for cleaning oil off stuff.
Ukgser competition for the best muffs?
Thanks lads

rode all winter in summer gloves and have only switched the heated grips on a few times

who cares about looks when your nice and warm:thumb2

Who can resist putting their hand into a warm furry muff on a cold morning?

Worth every penny when the minus numbers turn up or Noah is slapping on a new coat of anti-fouling...

Who cares what they look like? They work. The aesthetics-obsessed tarts tend not to be out during the months you need them. :D

I've got the TT ones at the moment on my F8. It's obscene what they cost considering what they are. I only got them because I knew they fitted the F8 with the BMW Enduro bars on and I didn't want to buy and return four cheaper pairs to find ones that actually fitted. That said, they do fit properly, have lasted reasonably well and show no sign of the zips/stitching wearing out. Generally, I would advise people to get hand guards if they don't have them already, then get bar muffs that will go over these. Reason being, without hand guards, or at least some sort of rigid bracing to keep them off the levers/switchgear, they tend to flap about at high speeds and foul things.

You still looking? The 1150 hand guards stay in place and the Muffs fit over them. No issue of them fouling the leavers. :thumb2

He he, my bike is always my primary transport and sometimes (like since December) my only transport. I have no dependants, the finance is clear and I get a "car allowance" from work that just goes on biking related costs. Consequently I find it very easy to justify the more 'spendy' bike equipment if it's something I'll actually use. Last year I started totting up the total of how much of my money TT have had just with stuff for the F8. I stopped once I realised quite how far into 4 figures I was getting.

I know I'm bad, but there are worse; there were a couple of lads when I did one of the BMW ORS courses and they had each managed to spend over six grand on TT bits for their brand new GSAs, before the bikes left the dealer's shop floor. They did strike me as the types who walk into a car dealership and say, "Give me one of those and stick every option on it" IE more concerned with 'having it all' than having what is needed. I don't know what they bought exactly (how much more can you add to a GSA?!), but I sincerely hope it included all the very best top end camping equipment for their trip.

By contrast, I think of all the stuff I've bought for my bike, about £80 has been regretted/not needed.

EDIT: Bumpkin, spray those Becks boxes silver and that'd be mistaken for a Pan ST1300 at a glance. :D
