i received this letter this morning from my dealer
"Within the framework of quality monitoring
BMW motorrad has ascertained that some F650 gs and F650 gs dakar motorcycles might have been fitted with handlebar-clamping components that the supplier did not manfacture to specification in accordance with the technical drawings.
Consequently the possibility of the handlebars shifting out of position cannot be excluded .
If it were to happen movement of this nature could have a negative infulance on road safety
My 650 is a 2007 model
that is the only info i have at the moment other than to say the dealer will fit new handlebar components f.o.c.
