These things sound good and I'm determined to ride all year so I'd love to have some. Could anyone post a pic to show me what they're like before I commit?

Timbo,
If you look at my earlier post you will see some pics and a link in fact here it is again that will take you to my web site telling you more.
In fact Paul G offered a while back to put a link on this board and today (Sunday) I notice he has added a link (looks like the back of the bike)
They are good in the dark, so I know what you mean about riding in winter. Having said that people that have followed me on bright sunny days have also commented on how good they are. The main reason being when you enter a shaded area like a tunnel or round here shading from trees you vanish as peoples eyes struggle to adjust. One guy on my IAM said I vanished when entering trees. Since fitting the Widetail lights people comment how the back of the bike glows.
On travelling through London on a bright day I entered a tunnel and a guy who was sort of interested in them later remarked I need them they are so obvious. He then asked for them on both his bikes.
If you look at the web site you'll get an idea. However seeing is believing as the pics on the were hard to take due to light levels colour balance of camera etc. For example the indicator looks red when flashing, whereas in reality it just looks amber.
I have fitted a pair of square rear fog lights. Can't recall the make - but the empty boxes are in the garage so can find out if you wish - but they were about £5 each. They are on a nasty aluminium strip that is sandwiched between the GIVI top plate and the rear rack (or remains thereof). They are controlled by an Autoswitch and are FEARSOMELY bright. I can supply a pic if you wish.
I have been tempted to tamper with the rear wiring so that the fogs and existing stop light can be swopped, i.e. use the fogs as the stop lights and vice versa.
Malky's widetails and fog light fitted on mine
The fog light is wired up to a switch by the speedo and has a circuit through a relay to a fused quick connector underneath the front seat.
If you want the best possible vision when riding in fog/darkness/murk, get a yellow visor. Arai do them - great for night time endurance racing, amongst other things. Don't know if they're available for other makes of helmet.
