Has anyone heard of or had any issues with hard wiring a TTv2 into the Sat Nav socket (The female socket under the beak) on a GS12 ( twin cam)?

Does it require an inline fuse?

Thanks

Richie

It is through the canbus. Dont need a fuse

Vines have done all my twin cams. No issues at all:thumb

I have mine wired into that socket and find that the mount draws enough current, even with the sat nav out of the cradle, to stop the canbus shutting down every time. The clue is if you mount the sat nav without switching on the ignition and it fires up without using the nav unit on/off switch then the canbus has not shut down. It does not happen every time. Sometimes the canbus shuts down as you would expect it to. It may be an anomaly with my bike's canbus but I have wired a switch into the cable to isolate the cradle from the bike power when it is not needed.

I had my TTv2 removed from my Triumph 955i and put onto my GSA by a "BMW techician" It switches on with the key but doesn't charge. I was informed that none bmw accessories don't work well....any ideas?

You need to go into the TT settings and get it to switch off automatically when power is removed. That will stop the CANBUS staying on.
