Heyup Gary, I hope you did the decent thing & picked up those gloves sat there. Not often you park up & find a good quality pair of bike gloves lying there......;)

Never noticed the gloves before must have taken them off to take photo. Its a pity the photo does not show how steep this part is, when i stopped my girlfriend got off and went arse over tit backwards

Now then, where are the photo's of that....... :D

I know what you mean, though. A few weeks ago, I did Ulpha Fell, Hardknott Pass, Wrynose Pass, Side Gates (into the Langdales), Kirkstone Pass, up to Penrith then back to Preston over Shap.

I got stuck behind some stupid bint in a Micra crawling up Hardknott's steepest sections. 1st gear & having to feather the clutch to go slow enough & not fall over/stall. Eventually, she pulled over but not before I'd been cursing every bone in her body at the top of my voice. I wouldn't mind, but she was moving along quite quickly all they way from Dalegarth station.....:shoot:

Know what'ja mean.........got stuck behind Mr. Pain-in-the-arse yesterday.Him in his Range Rover, obviously has perfectly good rights to spoil a fantastic pass of Hardknott :shoot:

Great road though....anyone thinking about it, just do it! :D

I was higher yesterday - Hellvelyn.

But the bike was left at home.

Brilliant I haven't been up there for years. Seeing that I've decided to have a long weekend in the summer.

Actually, I reckon that a modern trials bike'd give it a good go with the right rider.

Bit of a bummer if you do fall off - more than a 5 for a failed section anyway.

Mind the walkers would have a fit - motorbike on Striding Edge!

Striding Edge

Hi Peter
Did that walk a few years back withSWMBO unfortunately
it was like a traffic Jam on the M6. We also did Scaffell and Scaffel Pike on the same trip never seen so many people on the Hills
except on the Ben. Health to enjoy a few more.

I've acually carried a push bike along Striding Edge and ridden down the other side of Hellvelyn in my mad youth!

Last time I did Helvellyn a couple of months ago I had to go equipped with ice axe & crampons! :thumb brilliant :D

This is a pic of the trig point

Malcolm,

That goes a long way towards explaining some of the roads we rode last weekend!
