Harley hard bags wanted for Roadking.

I've got to be honest they are as rare as hens teeth second hand. Glides look terrible without them so they rarely get taken off, and it's not like there's a huge range of aftermarket alternatives to the OE fitment for anybody to be swapping them.

You might want to look at pattern parts :thumb

Thanks Mutley. I've realised how rare they are in Europe alright. I've been offered a set from the usa for $275 with only one lid  or a complete set with all hinges and locks for $400 dollars but that pair have chrome racks on the lids so I was unsure of the look of them.

do you mean ,hard bags or panniers ,meaning the std ones that come with a road king ?

Dave, I have a RK Classic. It has the hard leather panniers. I'm thinking of changing to the hard fiberglass (or whatever they are made from) boxes. So yes I suppose the ones that came with the RK. I might even consider a swap or similar.

dont think there might be a cheap way round it ,other than buying odd ones ,as they come up and then having them sprayed .
there was an ex police pannier (us ) on e bay recently .
ill keep me ears open

Luke, I've got a right hand one in Mystic green/Black that I damaged slightly and had repaired. I replaced it when I found a brand new one on eBay. The damage is minimal and if it was resprayed it could easily be made nearly perfect.
From memory I think it would need some fittings like fixings and lock barrel. I'll check it out if you're interested.

its easy enough to get the bits ,ive just ordered some screws for the lock and other screws,to hold the lock on ,as no one has got any that small.
get the one from daveg ,and just wait for another one

Well I dug out my spare r/h box, dusted it off and photographed it. Luke made an offer which I countered with £90 + P+P and I haven't heard since!

If anybody is interested in this let me know or I might eBay it rather than put it back into storage.

The mark on the leading edge of the lid is where I didn't prepare/repair the lid well enough before getting it sprayed. I left the lid open one night while wheeling the bike into the garage in the dark:blast It's solid as a rock and would be invisible if it was spayed again to change the colour.
