Hello,help!advice required.
i have noticed some of the outer sheathing on my wiring harness is cracked and gone brittle.
it seems a bit crumbly and exposing the coloured harness underneath,
it is in different areas of the harness.under the tank and beak area.
i haven't been polishing it with wd40 or anything .
bike is june 2002 model 1150gs.:(
thanks,jason,

Mines the same, the individual wires are OK. so just using self amalgamating tape to protect the really exposed bits.

thanks for quick advice pete.(get your switch gear sorted?)
sheathing covered by warranty ?
looks like the sheathing is falling apart.
Why don't they use the amalgamating tape on the harness nowadays?i am sure my rs1100se had it on.

Yes got the switch gear sorted bit of bodging but done.
Dont see why the harness shoudnt be covered by warranty, mines not, out of warranty

Crumbling sheathing

I have had to replace all mine over the last couple of years,as it has all crumbled to dust basically:confused: specially where there is a cable tie.Andy

I've removed every cable tie that holds wiring/harness to the frame around the headstock/handlebars - so hopefully won't have broken wiring etc in the future

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE:)
Well what happened was :replaced the crumbled stuff with the tape, covered by warranty.(this time)
repairs thanks to Williams of Manchester.
