Having just got my R1200GS, I want to fit a 2610 Garmin GPS. I used the 2610 on a K1200RS last year and would love the extra buttons you get with a Perfect Pilot cradle or alternatively a Touratech remote control.

Having done a search on the website, I can't find any posts from anyone with first hand experience of either system. Has anyone out there tried either option? Are they any good?

I am reluctant to spend several hundred pounds on something completely untested. Can anyone help?

many thanks

Peter

I haven't tried it, but I have seen a valid alternative that is quite a bit cheaper here.
The Perfect cradle is pretty expensive if you buy it separately.

And Touratech sells a handlebar remote control: buttons at your left hand, where they belong if you ask me.

Cheers,
Michel

And by the way, welcome on the forum :)

Hey Michel, hows it going..

Dyou prefer to use the 2610 remote rather than one of these aftermarket items..... If so, why?

I've been thinking about an extra remote, but am not keen on using the Garmin one, as it doesnt mount easliy.....

I prefer it so far, as it was included and so it didn't cost me anything extra :D

I'm sure there are better solutions, I would prefer the Touratech option. But I don't really miss it so far.

Cheers,
Michel
