Guess what?

I ground mine out having fun in Scotland. The pedal was displaced slightly in-board and the brake light sender switch was released - going onto permanent send. No probs or indication on the console until I switched off at the ferry terminal. Upon switching back on the bike started but brake fail light was on.

The exact problem not being evident at the time but brakes working, I alerted my home dealer and rode the bike from the terminal onto the boat home. On trying to ride off the boat at the other side, the system went tilt and the bike wouldn't start. Recovery ensued.

I see that the lowest part of the brake lever on the demo bike in my local dealer has also been touching down and I haven't even ridden it! So have a care.

Incidentally my suspension pre-load was set hard and the compression/reboundwound up.

Thoughts on the GS1200 - what is needed is Ohlins, a steering damper and a 998 testrastretta engine.

Pj Re brake lever

My 1200 has had two new ones and the third is on order, the suspension is crap, i have also had two centre stands and two side stands, bike is ok solo, but when you go two up the bike is not up to it, i have also just placed an order for ohlins, just waiting for the correct spring to arrive from sweden, you can scrape the pegs riding solo, but when you ride two up you just grind the stands out and the rear brake pedal.

That's odd. I wonder if you blokes across the pond are getting a different spec suspension. I have toured with the girlfriend on board (and neither of us are lightweights) over the bumpy, curvy roads of new England without any trouble with things grounding down, etc.

D'accord! I'm really glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I will print this out for my sceptical dealers. Would be interested to hear how your Ohlins performs

Anyone out there got access to the BMW design or tech support team? If so please pass on the good news.

Incidentally I'm really pleased that the World Superbike Championship has been won back from Lancashire by a Sheffield lad.

Do you folks dragging the brake pedal have engine guards? The reason I ask is because I have ground the H&B engine guard but that is the only thing that touched down that I can see.

wow!
you must all be :
a) really fast
b) really fat
c) really full of something.

Ground the brake pedl? My ar*e!
