Is it worth punting £20 on a Haynes manual or would you do better just printing out the relevant websites for info? Valves, Final Drive etc are well covered here and on R1200gs.info, I don't see the need for a wiring diagram and most other service type things look/are fairly easy.

I'd say some sort of manual (Haynes or Clymer) is worth it just for cross checking what you read on the Internet. I use various forum how-to's etc, but always read through the relevant section in the Clymer book (and the factory manual). Mistakes are around (both in the Clymer and the how-to's) and it's nice to have a sanity check before you dive in with a torque wrench set to a zillion Nm....

Unless you intend to strip and rebuild your engine or gearbox, I wouldn't bother. I bought the Haynes manual and don't think much to it. They don't even tell you how to change the final drive oil. Final drive bearing repairs and ABS brakes are 'see your dealer' along with a lot of other minor bit and pieces.

More info on the site here, Adventure rider, www.R1200gs.info etc etc and the REPROM you can buy. I believe it can also be downloaded from somewhere, whether or not it is legal is another matter.:augie

I'm just looking to service my bike at home (Non servo ABS '07 GS). The only bit I can't find info on is the brake fluid change - and if it's not in the Haynes then there really is no point.

Ta! And expect questions! ;)
