So it seems we have a TV personality amonst us.

There I am yesterday evening having a mug of tea after the dinner and I flick over to RTE1.

There's a programme on called Beyond Endurance about a group of people going to Antarctica to attempt to walk to the South Pole in the footsteps of Shakleton and Tom Crean.

My tea nearly went all over the settee when up pops GerryC on the screen. The cute hoor kept that one quiet. Did any of the rest of ye see it? Maybe it was all a terrible dream.

GerryC is a media star, his dulcet tones have wafted from the radio to waken me on many's a morning. He pops up occasionally on the box.
I've known him since before he became famous, and 30 years later he is still the same shy, quiet, unassuming, gentle, caring, insightful young fella as he was then, but only when he's off the bike.
