Hi All.
Need some advice , after completing rebuild ( 1100rt ) back on the road, trying to iron out faults, so had small oil leak from head gasket , after retorque head problem seems to be solved but bike running rough , question is if there small leak ( just seep ) would that effect compression ? Then if retorque head will that effect throttle bodies balance ?

I presume you reset the valve clearances??
No didn't touch valves, I balance bodies and all was smooth and rosy , till oil star appiring from head gasket, so retourqe head that fix oil issues but no when cold star running bit lumpy , when hits up its ok , it's just pain in ring takind pannels with 200 screws , next one will be GS

If you re-torqque the head nuts you need to recheck the rocker end float and then you have to recheck/do the valve clearances

when cold start running bit lumpy
If this only started after the last time you removed the tank You need to check the throttle cables are seated in their cups correctly (so that the butterfly valves in teh throttle bodies are closed all the way when throttle closed)

The cold strat actaully opens the butterfly a bi to let more air in to "help" burn the extra fuel these bikes inject when cold If you don;t open the butterflies a wee bit there's not enough air to burn it all and its very similar to driving with the choke on with a hot engine (if you get what I mean)

No tank didn't come off and cables all good, yeah agree valves should be done so is end float . I run for 100 ad miles then retourqe head again do valves and end float same time and them synchronise body's, see what happens then . More work to do

Aye its always the way but of you haven't got rocker cover protectors you can remove rocker covers with out all the palava of side panels removal ???

Its Torque heads ..... Check/Adjust End Float ...... Check/ adjust Rocker clearances in that order
