Does any one know if I need a special tool to replace my head berings and also cos i'm going to do a bit of a bike bshing long journey around africa can anyone recomend an upgade beaings and where to buy them. Cheers Darren

I'm afraid I don't know the answer but you might find more info on the chain gang forum or bmwf650 forum, good luck :thumb2

There is a special tool to fit the bearing but it's not essential to use one. Removing them can be a pain...careful use of an angle grinder helps and I think fitting a grease nipple would be a good mod:)

There is a special tool to torque them up properly. Best if you read the service manual that can be found on the F650.co.uk site somewhere

No special tool required.

I fitted mine without and they are still in one piece after 12 months of off roading:thumb

Hardest part is getting the old bearing off the bottom yoke, don't bother trying to knock it up the shaft, just cut it off :thumb2
