Hi Folks
I have bought a header pipe for my GSA 2006 model and was told that the std header is 43mm in diameter and this one is 48mm. It is not a Remus but locally made in South Africa. The quality looks fine however i understand that some folk have even had to bastardise the Remus and other well know brands some times.
I fitted the header and all went well until i tried to fit the Akro slip on, there is a leak at the join and the clamp cannot be tightened any further to stop it from leaking.
Is it recommended that i use a high heat gasket sealer or maker where they join or not. Probably only need a 1mm thicker to stop the leak. Some folks recommended machining a sleeve but i think that will make it difficult to slip the Akro on.
Any advice will be welcome, I also don't want to weld the join thanks.
I saw some 350 degrees celsius grey gasket sealer at our local bike emporium but was sceptical to use before i knew what i was doing.
