Hi folks

While out for a wee skoot about last night, I found my headlamp aim is way off.

Does anybody a guide to setting them up, I know about the MOT website that gives you the official setting for headlamp aim but I can't work it out.

what I'm needing is a basic 'x' far away from a wall the 'top/middle/lowest' point of the beam should be 'x' from the floor aiming to the left by about 'x' from the centre line of the bike

cheers for any help or pointers

Roddy

Why don`t you just call in to a bike MOT Testing Station and ask if you can set your beam up on their alignment jig ?? :nenau :nenau

Hi Roddy,

Fairly easy to do, on flat ground get your bike ten feet from a wall,

measure from ground up to headlight centre ; turn on main beam when your main

beam projects onto wall make sure same height from gound to projected centre

of your beam, also make sure the main beam is a straight line projected on wall.

When you dip your beam voila sorted.

Regards Mack..... ;)

Why not go to a nice dark quiet road and start twiddling the knobs till it's pointing in the direction your happy with.

(Yerr yerr I know 'twiddling knobs in the dark' )

Oh by the way, If your bike is a 12gs you'll get low beam right and then discover that high beam is in the trees up high to the right, and you can't do anything except compromise then both will be out of line again.

I don't bother using high beam anymore :spitfire
