More advice required oh wise one's.

Dip beam failed last night, not pleasant riding home in the dark and wet.

The bike is an SE and only 4 months old, do you reckon this is a warranty item.

Going to try, just interested to know other peoples thoughts?

Is it easy to change, I know i havent read the hand book much easier option to ask on here! Yes I am a lazy git....:thumb

I doubt the warranty will cover it (assuming its just the bulb).

A word of warning though when changing the bulb; don't push the replacement too hard in its mount in the headlamp unit. See my post below.

It is far too easy do dislodge the inner workings from their ball and socket joint. You will enjoy the 'challenge' especially if you don't have small hands. Good luck.

Just checked with NOG it is covered under warranty, bulbs are covered for 6 months from purchase on new bikes. So good news there, I am booked in to have it replaced on Saturday, so even better they will fit it so i can't hamfistedly break anything!!:)

Hi, it may be worth watching them replace it to understand how it is done. It is not so hard, and can be done in a few minutes. Next time it may fail in the dark, away from home and it would be good to be able to replace it yourself(if you carry a spare) so you can get home and not stranded on the side of the road.

Also the main beam and dip beam bulb are the same and therefore interchangable, so with the ability to replace a bulbl you could swap the main main beam bulb with the dip and again get home, even without a spare.

Is that you Tom?

No I am not Tom! I am Chris.

I will try and watch them, thanks for the tip on the main beam bulb being the same, very useful to know, means a spare can be kept at home rather than broken in my top box... And i can swap them over as a short term fix...

I knew you lot would all help me out, much better than reading the manual!!!

Changing bulbs is a very simple job, it must be cause i get SWMBO to do it for me, due to my XXL Germans:augie
