Hi
I have a 2003 F650GS and the headlight is pathetically dim. I have changed the small bulb inside the headlight but this has made no difference at all.
The main beam is fine.
Is there a way of making this light brighter:nenau?

I have done a search on headlights on this forum and it was suggested to replace the buld for a higher wattage (not sure if this is main beam or the other smaller bulb) but this may lead to shorting out the wiring - which would not be ideal!

Any help appreciated

read the info re relays on the www.easternbeaver.com website

all down to voltage loss apparently :nenau

The small bulb is the parking light, high and low beam are both in the headlight bulb.
If you do fit a higher wattage bulb then use relays and fit a better bulb plug and heavier wiring, the BMW wires are pathetically small -as with a lot of things on these bikes the wiring looks as though it was designed by accountants not engineers.

650 riders use the force fella, no need for lights :thumb

Alternatively, PM Les Wassall and ask him for a H4 hid kit :thumb2

Graham fitted a HID slimline kit to my GS, brilliant. Sue
