Like the emicons above but much faster .....

If i've got it right there is a bush at the bottom and two screws, one either side. They are all there and done up. But when I'm riding the lights are going balistic. The road signs are almost setting me off on some sort of trip...... I can stop this but just touching the clocks, but I don't think that's an approved way of controlling the bike.......
Is there's something I've missed? Do these bushes wear out? Is there a spacer I could of missed? Any advice/suggestions greatfully appriciated

Regards
Terry

Either the adjuster has gone loose/broken in which case you cannot do anything other than change the headlight or tighten up the two screws that hold the headlight by its side. Furthermore you can wrap a little bit of tape around the bottom pin. If the bottom rubber bush is shot or created slack that will sort things up. It worked for mine

he is not talking about the headlamp beam,he means the whole speedo assembly.there is a rubber bush that pushes over a metal post.when thia happened to me i revoved clock assembly(its easy) and put some jnsulating tape around the post untill the bush is once again a good fit.

This happend to me when I had them of to fit hid's, just take the two bolts out again and make sure their in correctly. Thats what I did and all was well.

That's what I have done recently, fitted HiD's, though I don't think it's anything to do with them specifically....

:blast..........I'll do it all ........ remove and retighten the bolts and a little tape tweeking...

..and see what happens.... thanks

Clocks are rubber mounted and designed to be isolated from vibrations, but they do woble around. They are mounted on three rubber bushes with C clips to retain them.

My first GSA last year did exactly same as yours,no obvious faults.Don't suppose you have Conti Trail Attacks do you? My bike was written off 5 days prior to a tyre change so i couldn't compare, however my gut feeling told me it was the Conti's.Replacement bike came on Tourance EXP's,ok ish, swopped them for Michelin Annakees, superb, headlight stationary and clocks readable at any speed. My previous bike was only 15 weeks old,so would have hoped the rubber bush wasn't knackered.

Unfortunatley I did several things at once....
I changed to a full set of HiD's ....
I upped the front suspension one notch (was going touring two up) haven't turned it back...quite like the setting.....?
The front tyre's tread is getting a little low (Battlax ...)

Just remebered upped the tyre pressures...for touring ... don't remember lowering them...... ah ha!

be back latter....:eyebrow

I loosened the whole caboodle and lifted it off the pin underneath. I then slipped a rubber tap washer over the pin and put it all back together and no more shakes.....

Knocked the front susp' down one notch...... improves things a bit.....

Secondary issues .... :eek:the front tyre is very suspect at the mo' Looking to change to something else soon......

Definitley the bottom bush on the light mount has a knock.... so either new bush or a spacer of some sort......

.....changed tyres......was on Battlax's.... didn't like the front at all........ now on Mich' P3's "Trials""Trails"... much smoother..... seem to grip much better round the corners... predictable!....... done about 70 miles on them so far..so not ready for the full monty yet.......

Back to the bounce.. put a small amount of foam between the clocks and the surrounding bar as a temp fix .... works well. I think I'll have to delve down to the light mount spigot and renew the bush and or tape it......job for the weekend I think.............
