Evening folks, hope you've all had a cracking Xmas :thumb2

As the GS is in winter hibernation I thought I'd give her some minor TLC. Removed the TT DE fog guards in order to spray them black, was going to do the same with the oil cooler guard but had some trouble getting it off. Not sure if it's OEM; looks like the one in this thread; & is bent at the bottom to fit under the headlights. Also got two blobs of silicone in the top corners to keep it securly in place. Tried taking the fender off but ran into trouble. Removed four bolts under the fender & two under the instrument panel with no joy...do I also need to remove the bolts holding the indicator stalks on? Is there an FAQ with pics? :P

Other question is headlight related...noticed this crack/hole on the lens. Assuming it was there when I bought the bike. Can the glass be changed or is it all sealed up? Should I even bother? I have a wire mesh guard fitted, but flying rocks can get all over the place.

This might help you.

Cheers TJ, managed to get it off this morning. Didn't realise I had to remove the indicator stalks!

Anybody got any comments on the headlight. Can the glass be changed or patched up somehow?

This is a unit new one required or phone motorworks for good s/h one, this will fail the MOT.
Happy christmas,

Protect your headlights from expensive damage due to wayward stones and other detritus with our heavy duty polycarbonate guard. Also because of the way the guard is fitted the rider will not suffer from reflected glare.
Price £ 19.99

Your oil cooler is in a vulnerable place and any damage from stones or other detritus could prove costly. Fit one of our oil cooler guards for added protection and peace of mind. For that added professinal finish the 1150GS logo is laser cut into the guard.

Our Oil Cooler Guard is made in Britain from BS1470 5251-H22 Aluminium.
Price £ 30.99

Thanks dave, happy xmas to you too.

MOT is not an issue in Turkey, my only concern is that the glass might continue to break similar to that on a car windscreen.

shamless plug rudie?! :augie already have a headlight protector, I'm going to place on order with motorworks soon for some bits & pieces I might buy a plain black protector from there too.
