Looked on all the usual sites for a laugh and then priced the OEM just to make them look cheaper but it didn't work.

£205 is a joke! Only it's not!

Need to find a fix. Stripped it all out and the glass is 12cm diameter. First idea is to find a bike with the same dia headlight and silicone it into place. Anyone got anything at home they could measure for me before I get arrested/beaten up at the local bike cafe!
Second idea is find a replacement headlight such as the Bates type and fix that in place.
One question is, will a Bates have the required beam pattern for MoT?

Before any smug clever shit tells me it's cheaper to fit a headlight protector, it had a TouraTwat one fitted which was as much use as a chocolate fire guard! So be warned, TT stuff isn't as good as its made out to be.

I know where there's a 2nd hand one, give me a while and I'll PM you.

Sorry, forgot to say its the larger dipped beam one that's smashed.

How did it happen?

Stone, down the side of the TTGuard?

Bird hit it square on and it just bent inwards and smashed dipped glass.
After the event brainwave shows that if you look at the design there is no support in middle. If there had been it wouldn't have flexed and touched the glass.

The protector is undamaged. Great!

Look on the bright side, without it you may be looking for both lights:D

What about these? Probably better than originals?

I see, I have recently used this instead of the TT effort (although the TT Protector has been ok for 13 years)

I think it's more for stones, not birds

Just unlucky, especially when you're trying to sell it

If you bodge it, people will soon suss it out

That must rate as the unluckiest bike you've even owned - you've copped for everything:blast

I think naive rather than unlucky. First 1150 and you need to be more aware even when you buy on here.

Should of stuck with Hondas!
