Is there a thread on this topic?

I'm considering fitting one to pre-empt the next exhaust flap seizure (I had the original header pipes replaced a year or two ago - 2020 R1250GS).

Is there anything to suggest that the replacement exhaust flap in the header pipes is less likely to fail than the original?

Is fitting really the ten minute job the Healtech website suggests?

How do you ensure the flap stays in the open position rather than closed?

Unlike most Jap manufacturers, with the GS it will be in the open position and you can just disconnect the cables from the servo leaving the electronics connected. The servo has the end stops built in rather than needing the flap to tell it where they are.

Thanks.

So there's no need for the Healtech or other 'cheat' device?

I've got the healtech on mine

At the last (36000 miles) service, my flap was squeaky a bit. The Indy mechanic (who I trust) suggested the healtech so he fitted it as part of the service

Been fab since
