hi people
swmbo and myself are heading your way on saturday to stay around pickering area and would like some local knowlage on good ride's around the heartbeat area, moor roads etc and coastal area.
thanks in advance Graham:beerjug:

Just head for Goathland, you will come across all of the buildings and shops used in the TV series, its a nice ride but beware of the feds as they have a couple of unmarked cars in the area. If you get the chance head for Helmsley where you will find lots of bikes and a good chippy.

This is an interesting route if the link works - Pickering -> Hutton-le-Hole -> Blakey Ridge -> Rosedale (via Chimney Bank - allegedly the steepest hill in England, this route sends you down rather than up) -> Egton Bridge -> Goathland (Heartbeat) -> Whitby -> Scarborough and back to Pickering.

Lots of twisty back roads, great views if the weather's good and sufficient watering holes along the route should you need them, The coastal run and the run back to Pickering are probably the least interesting bits but there's a lack of decent east-west roads across the moors.

Hi guys,

Came up from nottingham with a mate on saturday to do this route and wanted to say THANKS! It was an excellent run up from hutton to whitby - so good we turned around there and did it backwards..

Met a nice bloke on a GSA in whitby who had the new Acro headers on display - very nice indeed.

Thanks again!

Steve

:clap:clapThanks for the advice on routes guys they were great arrived on sat at goathland and we just mised the hail and sleet!! the roads were very wet and the bike had never been so dirty,
just got home and total miles were 400 so good all round trip:beerjug:

Glad you all enjoyed our part of the world. There are also a few routes through various bits of forest on forestry roads open to the public that quite suit a GS if you come back exploring this way.
