Heated gloves

Any opinions on which heated gloves to use for winter.I have not yet found a pair of non heated winter gloves to keep my hands warm.

I already have the heated grips(800gs)which are about as good as a fish out of water!!

Any thoughts

gerbing definitely.after 20 years of riding with frozen hands the gloves are just amazing.keep an eye on ebay .i brought mine last year brand new on there ,got them at a really good price.far better than heated grips.

As you've got heated grips just add a set of Tucano muffs available from Val H of this parish and you'll be finger lickin toastie all day long

I'm a recent convert and only lately discovered the benefits of being up to the wrist in Val's muff eek but believe me they are superb

I use Tucano muffs in conjunction with BMW's thin GS gloves. Often I don't need the heated grips or only have them on low. I've never needed to use my thicker 'BMW Summer' gloves which is just as well as I hate them.

I'd say get a set of muffs.. they look a bit silly but they are about the best accessory you can fit... not had any experience of heated gloves but IMO if they don't heat to the tips of your fingers they on their own would be pretty useless.. i see gerbing say they heat each of the fingers the full length http://gerbing.com/Products/Gloves/T5.html

i looked at the warm and safe own website but i can't see if they heat the whole way to the finger tips

The Warm & Safe "Ultimate" Gloves have Changed. From the beginning I have been trying to make a heated glove that met both the needs of the winter biker and my desire for gloves that were designed for 3 seasons. I have finally found a way to do it. Make two different Gloves! We now have the Ultimate Touring and the Ultimate Sport. But none of our gloves are deep winter gloves! They are not designed to keep your hands warm at 10 degs. Come on, think about it. What is the insulation you have over your liner and then think about the thin layer of leather and insulation in the glove. If you want a thick heavy glove with no feel or flexibility then you need to buy something else. Or get a glove cover from Aerostich and wear it over the gloves as another wind block on those really cold days.

They are great gloves. 100% waterproof.

But the outsides still get wet and need drying out.
What about water running down inside ? And try taking heated gloves on and off a few times on a rainy day. Have fun.


Muffs, and keep wearing your summer gloves and they don't need drying out, and it's even warm enough for no gloves if you like.

Another one for the muffs and heated grips, gave up on heated gloves, a pain plugging them in all the time.

wife uses oxford hot hands, wrapped around the rack on the r1100rt, she was well impressed when I fitted those

Thanks for all the info,i think i am going to try the muffs first as the price looks right.The gloves look very good but are a tad expensive.Do they come on and off easy enough,im still young enough to care that the bike looks ok whilst Im only on short blast and its waiting outside the cafe!!!
Do they interfere with any of the controls,will they go on with BM hand guards?
Next question how do i get hold of Val H of this parish ?

they look ok on a gs, especially a dirty one, sort of rugged, they fit over the handguards, but take a couple of hours riding to get used to using the indicators by feel, you wont remove them untill spring

I always hated the thought of fitting muffs as I thought they looked naff. When I got back from Australia I was freezing and only had the bike for wheels so I bought a set of Tucanos from Val H.

I now hold them in very high regard and will be putting them back on the bike ready for winter in the next few days. As everyone says, muffs with summer gloves (and heated grips on low if its really really cold.)

For heated clothing, I can thoroughly recommend the Kais heated boot insoles for about £32 a pair. Windchill over the boots can freeze your toes in the depths of winter, but if your hands and feet are warm, you feel comfy and can ride all day with a smile rather than feeling cold and miserable and losing concentration because you are freezing your tits off.

Yes i have the kais jacket and insoles,that was my first reason for thinking heated gloves,however i am going to go with the muffs,If i see poeple i know looking at the bike i will keep walking by untill its clear to get back on!!!!
IM not in the salavating and sluring my words stage just yet.
