Hi all,
I'm partway through a disability adaptation project on a 2004 F650GS and am trying to work out how to have heated grips.
I've now got a twist throttle on each side so the left-hand OEM heated grip will neither fit nor heat appropriately.
These are some of the options I'm considering:
1) Buy an OEM right-hand grip and put it on the left, wiring it in to the OEM switch.
2) Buy a Symtec undergrip set and just use the throttle-side heater, wiring it into the OEM switch.
3) Find a Symtec ATV undergrip set and replace both OEM heated grips and the OEM switch. This is designed for direct bar mounting, not throttle mounting, and so may be too hot. It would be evenly heated though, because it assumes a thumb throttle.
4) Say sod it and use overwraps.
A mate's doing the work and it's been a long time since I had by head in a bike's innards so I'm unsure what would work or what would be best.
Any thoughts on this please? Thank you!
