Heated jackets

during the recent cold snap the bm*heated jackets came out for the first time this year
having changed from an 1150 to a 1200 with 2 sockets i assumed we could both be toasty on our day out
wrong !!
my 05 spec 1200 will not run 2 jackets at the same time any ideas ?

IIRC the sockets are limited to 5A in total and the BM jackets (I think) draw 3.5A each. So presumably the CANBUS is shutting the sockets down. Interestingly (?), the RT has a 10A limit.

I have a Optimate cable hard wired to the battery. Obviously used to keep the battery charged. Works a treat and has done for the last 18 months so lets not go off topic.
Noticed that the socket doesn't like to power two jackets so changed the plug on one jacket for an Optimate plug ( maplins sell them ) and now you plug into the hard wired Optimate socket to power one of the jackets. Original socket now runs one jacket and my tank bag power. Problem solved.

Can run 2 BMW jackets from my 1200 with no problems.

You could wire your second socket direct to the battery, via a fuse of course,
