What is the general concensus on heated jackets? The new BMW jacket looks good but is bloody pricey at £180, the Widder series 1 is approx £110. Is the BMW one worth the extra?

Does that include the heat controller?
When I looked it was another £40 odd, which pushed the price up quite a bit.
Just bought a Chilli waistcoat for £126.45 including variable heat controller, P&P etc.

Get down to CW's for a bmw one, the GS club gets 10% discount. Bought mine and very good it is too. Am aiming to run a comparrison with our cheesey member who bought a Widder recently.

I bought a Chilli one, now rebadged Klan for £100. It's fine. Was in CW's recently and they have the B*W reduced to £165 and you still get the 10% discount, so i bought one for my Bird (and no i don't mean turkey). Wore it home to compare it with the Klan one and to decide which one to give her (i.e the worst one - as i'm generous like that - as she's rarely on the bike in winter). Couldn't see much difference in terms of heat but;
the B*W construction is much easier to wear as it doesn't have 'elements' running through it (honeycombe design) so it is less obtrusive when you have it on.
the B*W one doesn't have a collar. This is either good or bad depending on your preference.
the B*W one doesn't have a flying lead to connect to. This annoys me. You have to either carry the whole cable around, or else fiddle around under your jacket to re-connect it. The Klan one had a short flying lead which means you can leave the lead on the bike and connect/disconnect quite easily when re-fuelling etc.
Overall the B*W one is nicer to wear but i think i might be modifying mine/hers so that i can make/break the connections easier. I'll also be switching to battery connections or another socket point as the one by the foot is a pain in the a*se and mildly disconcerting (next to engine, etc).
