heatsink compound...from my PC to my Airhead!

Hi all....This is my first ever post on UKgser so I thought I should introduce myself first... : I'm Giacomo, from Italy...I love messing around with both PC's and Bikes...which is how i got to this forum!


I need to clean out the ignition control module on my 1983 Airhead, I know that this goes back on using heatsink compound...

What happens if I use the stuff that normally goes onto the CPU when I assemble a computer? Is it more or less the same paste?

The silicone compound used on processors is the same stuff it is heatsink compound.
