Heidenau K60/K60 Scout experience wanted......

Hi All

just about to fit a set of Heidenau k60's (K60 front K60 scout rear) to the G/S however recommended tyre pressure are a bit scarce to come by - anyone here have any experience/recommendations?

I was going to start with OEM (28 psi front 26 psi rear) and play around a bit, but if anyone has a steer to save me a bit of time/hassle I would be much obliged

The side walls are that stiff pressure doesn't really make that much difference. I just stuck to bmw recommended pressures of 29/36 solo, and 36/42 luggaged or pillioned Gsa1200) but I ran much lower after some dirt roads and barely noticed.

But they aren't the greatest tyres - they last really well and have adequate grip wet or dry, but wear square so pick up lines easily, and are a bit vibey and noisy on the road. A worn out rear with a half worn front is a horrible combo, and as they wear you feel the blocks on the edge of the tyres moving about when leant over. But I have had 2 pairs now and considering a third pair (so they must be more than ok actually) when I wear out the tkc70s currently fitted - which are fine solo but a bit rubbish two-up.

Great tyres, I found slightly higher air pressure reduced the noise and made better on-road handling, wear very well 2 rears tyres to a front, handy off road, just watch the speed rating (when in Germany of course).

Thanks chaps, offiical response from Heidenau themselves for the G/S is 2.4 Bar front, 2.8 Bar rear (34.8 and 40.6 Psi for the imperialists on here...) which seems pretty high especially as the rear is rated at MAX 41 psi but as the sidewalla are so stiff I can kinda see why that would be.

I wil start with this and work back from there!

I've been that impressed with the K60's on my F8GS that I'll not be fitting any other make.

They've done everything I've asked of them from commuting from near the Horseshoe Pass in the snow, to baiting sports bikes on hot summers days, and can be bought for £130 a pair!
