Can anyone tell me a good and quick source of these in the UK?

I ordered a pair from tyres-Pneus-online on May 2nd. They confirmed my order and took payment via PayPal through their web site. Having heard nothing, I emailed them over the weekend to find out what was happening. They claimed they had emailed me on May 3rd requesting a copy of a recent bill to confirm my address and prevent internet fraud. I can find no such email in my inbox, spam or deleted folders. Has anyone else ever been asked to do this when using PayPal? They have already taken the money from my account.

I am starting to worry and have told them if they can't guarantee to get the tyres to me by next Friday I want an immediate refund.

Grrrrr!

I've found Pneus to be very good although I pay by credit card normally to get the protection offered against fraud.

Can't help with tyre source however i had a similar experience with PayPal.

I think PP will only let you spend a certain amount without become verified. As i recall it was quite easy but took a day or two and involved PP charging you a penny or two in two separate transactions. You then plug the transaction reference from your bank account back into PP and that's it, you're verified for good.

Thanks guys. In this case it's the seller asking for proof, after the money has been taken, rather than PP.

It's reassuring to know you have had good service from them in the past Packer. I'll see what they come back with in the morning.

I Used same payment method as packer with them for my K60 scouts. all ok no problem :thumb2.... others here have used that seller..

Also.. :)

I will be interested in your view on the K60 scouts Malcolm, I know you had TKC's before.... I get a bit of wobble creep in about 85- 95 mph (which I have not had before, makes me roll off the throttle and it goes :nenau ! )

I ran a set of the origiinal K60's with a 150 section rear and above 80 on coarse roads it started to weave quite badly, firming up the preload and the rear damping helped a lot as the weave used to start the rear bouncing as well. They never let go though.

I'm using the new Scouts for a big trip this summer on a mix of metalled and gravel roads which tells you what I think of them. I expect to do the entire ~8,000 miles on one set.

Thanks for that :thumb2 (mine are the new type with the continual centered strip on the rear not sepperated blocks)

No response to my emails to the company today. Tried phoning but they shut at 4pm.

Re the wobble Dean, yes I had something very similar on the TKCs and I had hoped the K60s would be better. I couldn't really go above 85mph on them until the return leg from Turkey after they had done around 7000 miles and were almost smooth. I also found the TKCs unpredictable on wet roads

I much prefer the Tourances on the road, but I will be off road for up to a 1000 miles in Iceland in the Summer and Biking Viking recommended the Heidi's for the tracks.

I checked how long the Tourances have been on the bike and was amazed to find it was 11,000 miles. The back tyre is now just below the limit and won't get the bike through its MOT (which ran out yesterday), hence my need to get the new tyres despatched ASAP!

How did you find the Heidi's in the wet Dean and others who have tried them?

I will definitely be back on the Tourances after this trip.

In the wet so far so good better thatn the original death wings :thumb and for the 1000 miles you have planned for off road they probablt will be second to none :thumb2 :D

its just that tarmac wobble :blast

Good luck with pneus they were spot on when I purchased :)

Malcolm

I've bought bike are car tyres from pneus online, both times they asked me for a recent bill, although last time the tyres arrived before I emailed them a photo of a bill :blagblah

Anyway generally a good company

the K60s really are excellent on the road not too bad off road, compared to TKCs that is, I've had them all winter and done about 4k miles... I think :rob

I love the K60's on my F8GS and at 8000 miles they're half worn.

Haven't experienced any weaving or wobble, even when I blasted through France at 85+. Maybe your balancing wasn't as good as it could have been?

Well the tyres finally arived from Pneus this week and are being fitted on Saturday. BUT, looking at your picture Dean, the have definitely sent me old stock as there is no continuous tread down the centre of the rear. I'll post a pic later.

One further complication is that the front tyre is B rated and the rear 140/80 is not. The guy who is fitting the tyre and then doing the MOT assured me this wasn't a problem.

There was no mention of the B rating for the tyre on the Pneus web-site. In contrast it does include the B rating on the Oponeo web site. And its over £10 cheaper! Grrr! Know where I will be shopping next time. Thanks Casper.
