My BMW Seattle pants have sprung a leak, wet crotch time this morning

These HG cruise (not sure about the inferrence?)trousers are £220, which in my book isn't cheap. Although it must be said, I shall wear them every day on the bike as I don't have a car & commute 50 miles a day.

"entry level pants" even gayer??? come in at £150. Have to try them on Friday.

What other manufacturers are out there that sell Goretex kit & any of you would happily recommend?

I use HG journey pants which were about (£120) there not goretex but shelltex but they have been 100% waterproof and HG's warranty is 2 years.

I've got the jacket, but retired it when the BMW kit came my way cheap.

Perhaps I'm just convincing myself that Goretex is far superior, or is that the marketing men are convincing me?

Looking at the HG Goretex range; The choice appears to be, do I want a removable Goretex liner........NO, I want permanent waterproof.

Thermal lining....not sure on this one.

Bib & brace style, only advantage I can see here is if I wear it with my BM jacket as they don't zip together, I have better protection as there will be less gap in "an off" & I slide on my back.

The Goretex in my knackered trousers appears to be visible as the internal liner of the trousers, has this made them more vunerable to wear & tear?

Sailing trousers

I also want trousers that come with armour. I will also be wearing these in Summer (as such) & winter, so must be suitable for all seasons.

I'm about to try a pair of Cobra pants and will be visiting bykebitz at Yateley Friday.

A question for any of you who have these, I'm a short leg at 29" with a 36" waist. anyone else this size? Does the knee armour sit in the right place?

I've contacted them and was advised that there is a short leg version, and they are sending me their catalogue which explains their sizing.

I have a pair of HGtricky 11 gore-tex. i'm a 33 leg, 34 waist. The knee armour doesn't fit my legs properly either.Although my leather HGtricky trousers are spot on.

+1 for HG Tricky GTX pants, thermal liner and good comfy knee and hip protection. Have the cruise jacket but didn't like the pants / bib thing, the tricky pants still zip to the jacket when needed

how do you manage a GS with 29" legs

I have the HG pants with bib and braces which are currently slung over the bike drying in the breeze while I'm in the tent! They are coping with a week of Scottish and Irish rain brilliantly. They get my vote! I like the bib and braces but you can always remove them if you don't.

dianase gortex pants are very good, they didnt let water in all the way around Eastern Europe in the worst fekin monsoon conditions the sky gods could throw at us

Yossarian, I'm a fat bastard the suspension drops! But there again so did the bike once, I think it's improved as the bikes aged, 43,000 miles and it's riding lower than it used to.

I've tried the short leg version of the HG pants with the bib, the armour was great as shin pads, and I'm not paying good money for something that doesn't fit properly.

Ugg, I've just been to Infinity and bought some Dainese Goretex trousers, c/w vents. £180.

Toyed with the Rukka option, but £300 was a tad to far.

Oh yeah, the Harlvarsons Cobra pants were a total nightmare to get on, feet kept getting caught up in the liners. There wasn't even a chair in the changing room. After seeing the advert, I was surprised how small the shop was. Didn't rate the sales assisstant either.

Just to make you even happier with your Dainese... just taken my HG Cruise II back today. Ten days old and leak around the wedding vegetables. Offered me another pair (what? to wear over the top of the first pair?) but declined to give me my money back until they've tested the pants. Second pair of leaky HG pants I've had. If I can get my money back I'll be after something different.
