Has anyone managed to get an answer from Hein Gerickes telephone ordering line ?

Always found it easier and quicker to just go there, but having 3 around here does make that slightly easier

They're not owned by Garmin by any chance are they??

The website is down as it's "under construction", no one answers the phone on the telephone sales line.

I've just used the fax form from the back of their catologue. But I'm not expecting next day service :(

If you can , avoid the mail order and visit the shop!

Have heard loads of bad stuff about the mail order service...

I had the same problem the other day - rings out - no answer. So I called their Farnborough Store and ordered from them - goods arrived the day after. Pity the head office bods can't work like the staff in the shop!

I took my gloves(Alpinestars SMX air carbon) back to HG today cos the velcro was becoming detatched.......to cut a long story short they gave me a new pair off the shelf(i'd had me others about 3months).
I thought about asking for 'compensation' for having to break the new gloves in but thought it would be taking the pi$$!!:D :D

Good thinking...........i'll buy em if they're about 20quid(gotta be worth glueing).
I use heated grips and ride all year round and these gloves are great(not the warmest but are good all round gloves!!).

H-G are pretty good in the actual shops. A few years back some Goretex gloves I brought developed a *small* leak, no receipt, no problem - new pair off the shelf. They get as much business as I can put their way now.

Exact opposite to what I got from their Ilford branch. A 3 month old pair of trousers had leaked after 20 minutes of moderate rain. I didn't take the receipt in, and they told me they couldn't do anything without it. They made the comment I could have bought them at the BMF and might be trying to pull a fast one! So I had to go home and dig out the receipt. And even then, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I got the replacement pair................which started to leak a year later, 3 months out of warranty. Were HG interested? Like hell they were.

They won't be getting any money from me anytime soon.

They could simply need reproofing??(i've just done my Berghaus walking boots cos they started to 'feel' damp.....just hoping a dog aint pi$$ed in em!!):D

No, it was beyond reproofing. HG didn't suggest it. I wrote to their head office, and they showed no interest whatsoever.

Jacket Exchanged - 18months old!!!

Can't speak to highly about the guys and gals at the CHESTER branch. My Goretex jacket started to leak slightly under the arm.

It was over 18months old and I took it into the store to see what if anything could be done.

No problem sir, help yourself to new one off the rack!!!!

Can I change the colour from the red one to a blue one please, I've changed the bike since buying the red one.

No problem.

What great customer service, I will be back!!!!!!
