As for fitting, do it as you would any other relay switched auxiliary lamp

(Just make sure you use a bit of serious metal for the bracket)

Sold some of these to guys on big bike tours, the ballast is in the unit, all self contained.

If you are after some give me shout, got a cheep pair left.
