Hi there,

This is not only my first post on this site but my first on any site - ever ...........

I take it you know about the brown envelopes and the folding notes and the buying beers for everyone, for the rest of the year, so on that note just a pint of bitter for me please and hello and welcome and cheers.

Wow - it actually works... Magic!!!

Right, i'm off for an explore!!

(ps. just mastered sending words via the internet never mind beverages!!)

Hi Cliff & welcome along, hope you enjoy your stay here & your new GSA....:thumb
As to being a posting virgin....after doing it once you just can`t wait for the next time....:D

Dont want to appear any more ignorant than god intended but i have to ask - whats the craic the "tossers" brand?? Have seen it a few times on here and am starting to feel feel left out - enlighten me..........

Right then, had a look around the site starting to feel more at home (even though i'm actually at work - Shhh!) so wanted to get a few opinions and some advice on my current situation....

After years of admiring the 1150 GSA from a far (even pre LWR!!) but just making do with cheap, old bikes for financial reasons, a recent and fairly drastic change in my personal circumstances has found me convincing myself that borrowing money for a decent bike would be somehow more cost effective in the long run. The decision of which bike came pretty easily after some initial flirting with less practical options and so the search began.

I approached the classifieds and a few dealers with a ball park figure of around 5 grand and was offered a test ride on an '05 1150 GSA at Cooper Sunderland BMW. I didn't sleep for about three nights leading up to the test. This bike was my idol and i was nervous that i might be disappointed or even worse with a price tag of £7K, that i wouldn't!!! As you might have guessed the ride was a dream come true and the deposit was paid before i took off my helmet!!

After lengthly but unfruitful discussions over the price (grrr) i am due to pick the bike up on monday. Details are '05 1150 GSAdv with 7,500 miles, FSH, panniers and heated grips and 12 months warranty. What i'm after is some reasurance that i've not been robbed and some helpful tips to get me through the next few weeks with a smile on my face instead of egg!!

Ello..:bounce1

Good luck with new bike, i'm sure you'll luv it.

GSA's rule the world. :beerjug:

Hi Cliff,

What i'm after is some reasurance that i've not been robbed and some helpful tips to get me through the next few weeks with a smile on my face instead of egg!!

Looks like you have a deal, what do I mean...

You payed 7K and got a bike that has very low milage (especially for a BMW), you have a years warranty, its bought fom a dealer (well, this is meant to give re-assurance:nenau), you thought it rode great, it probably looks great, and you've always wanted one...

The right thing to do...good choice

You should also be re-assured by the residule value of the GS's, they're good:thumb2

Oh! & Welcome
