Just a little intro. I just purchased a 04 GSA Black/Yellow on 11/20/2004 from Grand Rapids MI BMW.
Left at 4 am on the 11/20/2004 and arrived there at 3:30PM. It was a great buying experience as they stayed open past their normal closing time so I could take delivery and escape to the south before the snow fell. Headed south in a drizzle on a new bike in total darkness, but I was toasty warm in my new gerbings jacket and gloves and I only did 39 miles before I remembered I had a sixth gear. Got to Ft Wayne and slept for 4 hours and then headed south again. Arrived home in aporing rain. Covered 1821 miles in 26 hours. I thought the seat on the BMW would be painful compared to the Corbin on my Honda but it was very comfortable, Glad I won't be having to by an after market seat. I am going to ad a throttle lock as my hand got sore riding back without one.
I am glad I bought my bike based on my test rides and reading the notes on mica peek before finding this site and the advrider sites or I might have got another Honda. I will be doing my own wrenching so I am hopeful this bike will last at least 10 years though now that I am able to commute on a bike again I will be adding about 30k to 40k a year on it. I hope it is like the Honda and will be trouble free.
I am glad to be riding such a fine handling machine.
