Hi, my name's Achim. I live in London and commute daily into the West End on my 03 R850R. I only took up motorcycling five years ago after the introduction of the con tax and wish I'd done it years ago: congestion? what congestion??

Having lurked here for a while I finally officially joined yesterday as I'm in the process of planning a trip to Spain/France/Italy/Austria/Switzerland/Germany in June with some mates. I keep telling them that 6 countries in 10 days is a bit much - discussions are continuing ...

Usually I go for daytrips around the South East. Last August I took our oldest son (13yrs) on a trip of the WW1 memorial sites in northern France and Belgium. What a great trip!

a vist to the somme historical center and B&B, martin pegler is a great friend, famous author and all round nice guy with a wealth of knowledge of the battlefields and a rather mean GS1150 too! Check this thread for more info and comments from other GS'ers:
