Helmet choice

I am in the process of getting a new crash helmet and having tried a range of makes and models am a bit lost. I have had Aria, Bell, HJC, AGV, Caberg, Shark,
Would like to try Schuberth, Arai and Roof, Tried on a Arai Tour X and liked the fit but would like to know if they are noisy and does the peak work well?
Tried on the Schuberth but it didn't fit well but that was a few years ago, have they changed in shape much? ( a bit tight around the forehead ) And finally the Roof, read that they are a tight fit around the chin but the main issue is noise. My Caberg is brill apart from the fact that it is VERY noisy.
Any help would be of use to me as I am fed up with buying helmets that are okay in the shop but once bought have some major problem on the road.

helmets is another word for nightmare, I think I have eight now. You find one that fits well in the shop but is so noisy it is impractical to use on the bike. My cheapest old novak is the quietest on a sports bike but no good sitting upright. I like the caberg and think its quiet so I bought the caberg with the drop down sun visor this is very good until it rains and water runs down the inside of the visor. In my local BMW dealers I tried a BMW one, WOW excellent in the shop, so comfortable, but now I am frightened of wasting more money, and I have run out of suitable reasons to tell the wife I have yet another helmet.

Brought a Roof Diversion last year after good reviews, found it a little quieter than my shoei. But still need to wear ear plugs, yes it is tighter around the chin but the worst thing about it is your lifesaver look is restricted because of the thickness of the lining, also top vents break very easily.

Have bought an Arai Tour X to replace it, draughty around chin without an oxford chinguard, no noisier with earplugs in than the Roof, and de-mists well. No problem with the peak with an adventure screen and tobinators on.

Roof Roadster

I have a Roof Roadster which is open faced, therefore allowing me to properly address those who impede my path, also an AGX X vent which 'lifts' very badly at certain speeds, and therein lies the problem, it's not just the helmet. The combination of your height, screen angle, head shape and speed all contribute to how a helmet feels on the bike. I find the Roof fairly quiet, but loads of others will tell you it's noisy, unfortunately there is no 'magic' solution but to buy and try loads of helmets, screens etc until you hit a solution that works for you.

I bought a Shoei xr-1000. The salesman said they were a quiet helmet with great ventilation (a must for this climate) I test rode the 1200GS and GSA with this helmet on and realy noticed the buffeting and wind noise, but comfortable to wear. Gave the Shoei to the wife and bought a BMW Sportintegral. The result was very little noise and I hardly notice the wind buffeting on my GSAdv. However I made the mistake of getting too firm a fit. The result after 2 hours wear I had real pain in both ears. Maybe I can get my son to buy this one
