I'm think about putting a helmet lock on my 12 (for when I don't use the panniers, or the panniers are too full when touring).

Can anyone recommend a particular lock/vendor?

Thanks in advance, Will

I think the 1200 has a basic one fitted already.
Search the forums for helmet lock ,it finds plenty of posts, don't know if that's what you're after?

Yes it does - small hooks at either side under the seat.

Remove seat, place helmet strap/hook, replace seat. voila!

Basic Lock fitted as standard

If you take off the front seat there is a post each side for you to hook your helmet over. Repalcing the seat prevents them from being removed.

Piggers

Bar end locks

I was looking at these as a neat alternative, however they rely on your helmet having 'D' rings, which my system 4 does not !

Bar enders

Interesting looking. But wasn't that sort of key the subject of recent problems of being picked by broken BIC pens?

another good altermnative is to take a small combination type wire lock. your helmet can then be locked to a part of the frame. As secure as any other 'helmet-type' lock

I got one of these: £8.99 halfords

I use a Kryptonite cable and disc lock: You can thread the cable through the helmets and if it's real hot, empty vauables from your jacket and thread the cable through the sleeves.
At the Montee Impossible in Le Frog we attached 3 lids and 3 jackets to my bike.......and they were still there afterwards....
