Well rock and hard place i currently have an aria tour cross which i love but the problem now is I've put coms in there is no room around the chin bar mouth area now to drink from my camelbak while on the move.

What i would like is an adventure style flip up helmet and problem solved ! tried the schuberth but didnt like it ? any recommendations for a suitable helmet adventure style that has plenty of room around the chin guard for both coms and to slip a drinking pipe in ? any help / advice welcome ......well sensible advice is lol :thumby:

You can get hands-free hydration drink tubes, enduro racers use them (for obvious reasons)

I'm sure they will fit a Tour X

I have a normal CamelBak and use it whilst touring, you can drink on the move by using your left hand to poke the tube in yer gob or just do it at lights etc

You don't need a special helmet, it works fine whilst wearing either my TourX or Neotec (closed)

Get a drill bit same size as hydration pipe, work out angle so that it will fit directly into mouth.

Think you can work out what is next step.

Bloody hell mate, unless you have a chin like Brucie I would have thought you should have plenty of room. I have a tour X with a mic in the front and use a camelback with no problem at all.

I would expect you need a flip up or an open face.

I have just got a cycling water bottle holder for the crash bars and taken the 'nipple' out of a cycling bottle and replaced it with the tube and bite valve from a hydration pack. Not perfect but should be able to take a quick gulp of water chilled by airflow under chinbar of helmet without getting pi$$ed wet through.

Brucie Chin

Hi guys thanks for the input and suggestions i think i must have a chin like bruce forthsye but i prefer the more chizzled Buzz Lightyear analogy haha so i shall go forth .....to infinity and beyond and try some more helmets than just the aria and schuberth though my melon head is rather peculiar in both shape and mental ability :jager :thumby::thumby:

A Camelback on a road bike, really? Why?

If you're off roading then they make sense as it's often easier to carry stuff on your body than the bike but on a great big tank like a GS just carry a placcy water bottle on the bike surely?

Having said that I use a Shoei DS off road and the Camelback mouth piece easily goes in over or under the chin piece so I'm not sure why you're having problems?

I

I think it's so he can have a drink while riding.

:D Yeah, I get that, just not sure why you'd do that but each to his/her own.

I like to stop for two minutes and take my lid off, have a drink, lid back on and ride off. Refreshed in more ways than just knecking some water.
If you're drinking on the go then you have to stop more often for a piss anyway (well you do at my age...........).

I do that when on tour. I use a Shark Evo and have a water bottle within reach that I can work with my left hand - piece of piss!

Yeah, but to be fair you ain't exactly going fast on your Harley ;)

Not at the moment as I need to fit my new Crane coil - I was, actually, referring to riding my GSA. :beerjug::beerjug::thumb:thumb

+1...dead easy; I had a Tour X 3, now an X lite 551 and the camelbak arrangement JB mentions works perfectly fine :thumb2
