Am in Northern Ireland for a couple of days before going to the wilds of Scotland. Mrs Haydw's autocom headset loom has broken a wire is there anywhere in NI where I can get my hands on one.

No idea, but can you not get the two bits of broken wire soldered back together?
Find a Halfords / Maplins / hardware store and buy a gas soldering iron and some solder. Easy!
Where in the north are you Dave? If you are near Newry I could solder the wire for you tomorrow.

Have had a go at fixing temporarily using a multitool and insulation tape hopefully it will hold. Believe Charles Hurst does them will give them a ring to see if they can help.

Could you get Autocom to post a new lead to where you are staying in Scotland?
Sam at Chainspeed was mega-helpful when I lost a lead whilst on holiday.
