Please would the UKGSER comms team help me to buy the right kit, simplicity to install and operate are the main features I would like. I am not particularly tech challenged but comms is beyond my comfort area.

I would like to install the following on my 2015 F800GS

Two way radio
IPhone 6
Dual band aerial
PTT button on handlebars

I have a Garmin 390LM Satnav, which I don't mind if it successfully connects, but is of secondary importance.

I realise I need some type of device , but what is it and can the two way radio be charged whilst under the seat ?

Thanks

For all that lot your going to need an autocom set up . This way you can hard wire in the radio, have a lead popped into the phone and sat NAv . There's also a PTT in the box which will connect to your two way radio . You will need a dedicated lead for the radio depending on which model you have .

I'd go for something like like the autocom SPA .
Have a look on chainspeed website , they have all the gear

Morning

Lots of options and opinions on this one, I will stick with the option I know well and say Autocom, not cheap you would need the unit Basic or SPA, filtered duel sound lead for sat nav, (Pair your phone to the sat nav). A battery eliminator if you pick a Protalk radio? The PTT lead.

As for remote Aerial, check out the threads on here, lots have done this mod, other option is mount the radio on your bars or up front near the instruments, much better reception than under the seat.
The pro talk is pretty waterproof.

If you went new on that set up your talking about £600 including radio, using the Autocom Logic unit. Always stuff coming up on here and flee bay, if you want second hand.

There are other hard wired hubs such as Starcom (they own Autocom as well) but Autocom are the best, but it can take quite a bit of fiddling with when it comes to getting the settings sorted, but worth persevering with as once set up its a great system.

I'm not a fan of Bluetooth systems, but my knowledge of them is a couple of years old, I couldn't get on with them, but I'm sure someone will be along soon that will have better detail on a current Bluetooth setup.

Is what I have depicted here a possibility ?

Black lines are hard wires and blue lines bluetooth

I have the two way radio, which I previously bought, but it is the same model as the other volunteers. I have been using the Uclear BT headset with an iPhone 5, but anticipate upgrading to a 6 within a few weeks.

Thanks

Ymfb the issue is 1) you would need a Bluetooth module on the Autocom unit another £95 ish and not a clue if the Uclear will link with the Autocom or

2) ditch the Uclear use the Autocom headset and pair your iPhones with the Garmin sat nav.

Autocom/starcom is the way to go. Hardwire everything except the Phone which will connect via the BT module which wires to the main unit. Why a dual band aerial ?.
