Morning gents,

I am trying to source a replacement plastic lock/latch for my right pannier, as it go bashed the other day and when I came to un-latch it to remove the pannier it fell apart in my hand. The barrel is fine, just the latch is broke.

It is the lower latch which locks the pannier to the frame, not the lid-latch. I have searched forums and websites but cannot find a replacement.

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...

Peace, out. x

I feel your pain. I think over the last (almost) 7 years I've had my GSA I've replaced every catch and every hinge on every box! They're really fragile and a real weak point for what I think is otherwise good luggage.

Their fragility is only matched, or maybe exceeded, by their cost... brace yourself, they don't come cheap!

I think, if it's just the catch you're after the part number is: 71 60 7 664 539, part number 21 on the diagram, and is referred to as "CASE SUSPENSION CATCH" – been a while since I had to buy one, but you're probably looking at £40 or so. They're an easy fit however and your existing lock barrel will slip out of the broken one and back into the new one without any stress.

Check here to make sure it's the part you need – go to the link "46 – Frame, Fairing, Cases" and scroll down to "Bottom Section of Aluminium Case". Catch is the same on side cases and top case.

Give Motorworks a call or your local dealer and quote that part number and you should be sorted.

Thats awesome dude, thank you so much for your rapid response assistance! That is an expensive little dobber, but before my next big trip I'll have to bite the bullet and order a replacement (and some of the overly long rivits). To tide me over i'll swap out the one from my top-box.

Thanks again!
